Black Jack Strategies

A dream come true for blackjack lovers! If you love the game and you can't get enough of playing at your favorite blackjack table, then you'll be pleased to know that you can now play live blackjack from the comfort of your home any time you would like.

Counting cards in live blackjack will not do you any good at an online live blackjack table because the casino shuffles the multiple decks before you can have a significant statistical advantage over the blackjack payout percentages. If you do want to learn about counting cards it is easy to learn. Check out the article for more information.

So what are the mechanics of playing webcam live blackjack?  How is it played?  First off, the player must remember that the aim of blackjack is to obtain a hand whose total value adds up to 21 or less.  The value of the player’s hand should never go over 21, or else he will “bust”; in other words, he will lose the game.

How do you beat the dealer in a game of live dealer blackjack?  That is a question that beginners to this game often ask themselves.  There are hundreds upon hundreds of strategies available on the Internet that claim to be a sure fire way of beating the dealer in blackjack, but the one think you should remember is that it is the simple strategies that work the best.

Live online blackjack combines the best of what the Internet can offer with the fun that a game of blackjack usually brings.  With this kind of blackjack, the player can experience the fun of playing this game as if he or she is really sitting at a table in a live casino

Ultimate Bet has blackjack as well as poker tournaments. Guaranteed pot sizes for every tournament.

How Cards are Dealt in Blackjack

Are you new to Blackjack and you are considering playing?  If so, you’ll want to make sure you understand the premise of the game, how the cards are valued, and of course how the cards are dealt.  The game is actually really simple to play, so once you understand these basic elements you’ll be ready to have some fun.  Depending on where you play you may see small changes in the way that the cards are dealt, but generally all casinos do it about the same.

The Cards Are Dealt

Once all of the players at the table place their bet the dealer will begin dealing cards to all of the players.  The dealer will make two passes around the table, starting his left so that the players and the dealer will all end up with two cards.  At this time the dealer will flip one of his or her cards over to show the table the value.  If you are playing a shoe game all of the cards will be dealt face up and you will not touch the cards.  If the cards are dealt face down you will be allowed to touch the cards and turn them over.  Many beginners like the shoe games because they don’t have to worry about flipping the cards over at the appropriate times, etc.

Three Player Simulation

After the Cards are dealt.

Dealer
Player #1
Player #2
Player #3

Now Player #1 is given the option of hitting (accepting more cards) or standing (not accepting more cards. Here's what happenns.

Player #1's turn.

Dealer
Player #1
Player #2
Player #3
Now Player #1 is takes a hit and receives a 9 card. At this point he should stnad because he has 19 total, and the dealers card is a 7. The dealer may get a face card which would bring the total to 17. Dealers must stand on 17 or higher. So Player know that if the dealer gets a face card (valued at 10) then he'll win the hand. Player #1 Stands on 19

Player #2's turn.

Dealer
Player #1
Player #2
Player #3

Now Player #2 is takes a hit and receives a 10 card. At this point he should stnad because he has 18 total, and the dealers card is a 7. Again, the dealer may get a face card which would bring the total to 17. Dealers must stand on 17 or higher. So Player #2 knows that if the dealer gets a face card (valued at 10) then he'll win the hand. Player #2 Stands on 18

Player #3's turn.

Dealer
Player #1
Player #2
Player #3

Now Player #3 is takes a hit and receives a 3 card. At this point he should hit (take another card) becuase his card total is 9. This is not enough to win. He takes another card and gets a 4 for a total 13. Again, this is still not enough to win. He takes another card and gets a jack which brings his card total to 24. Since this is over 21 he busts. Player #3 Busts.. and takes the lose.

Dealers Turn

Dealer
Player #1
Player #2
Player #3

Now the Dealer has to take a card until he has 17 or over. The dealer takes a card and gets a 10 for a total of 17. Since the dealer has to stand on 17, the delaer stands on 17. Dealer stands on 17.

Results:

  • Player #1: wins on 19
  • Player #2: wins on 18
  • Player #3: Busts (Loses)

If you are playing a game where you are dealt cards face down you will want to remember that you are only to touch the cards with one hand.  You also must keep the cards over the table at all times and any cards that are dealt to you after the initial two cards must be left on the table, never added to the cards in your hand.  If you play poker it can be difficult to break the habit of holding the cards in both hands, so make sure you pay attention to this when the cards and dealt and you picked them up.

After all of the cards have been dealt play will begin around the table starting with the first player to the dealers left, which is also referred to as first base.  At this time each player will let the dealer know if he or she would like another card to add to the value of the hand or if they would like to hold, or not accept any further cards to the hand.  After everyone has finished the dealer will then complete his or her hand and pay out or collect the debts of players.

There is a general exception to this type of dealing and that exception applies to casinos in Europe.  In many European casinos the dealer has only one face up card until all of the players have determine how they would like t play their hands.  It is after this that the dealer will finish his hand and is referred to as the European No Hold Card rule.  This is just a bit different but may change your strategy a bit.

In blackjack, it does not matter what the suit of the card is. What matters is the card’s numeric value. All the picture cards – the king, the queen and the jack – all have a value of ten, while an ace can either be a one or an 11, depending on what the player wants it to be. An ace with the designated value of one is called a hard ace while the one with the value of 11 is referred to as a soft ace. To learn more on how to play live black jack click here
